Tortilla Española

To many people who grew up in the UK a Spanish Omlette was basically an omlette in which you could throw literally almost anything in – tomatoes, peppers, peas, onions, mushrooms, potatoes. The end result may have been edible but it was certainly nothing anyone in Spain would have recognised as Spanish.
The real thing contains just eggs, olive oil, salt, potatoes and onions. Although there is a strand of thinking amongst purists that the onions don’t belong there at all.
A very versatile snack it can be eaten at any time of day hot, cold or lukewarm on it’s own or with bread or a salad. Our portions are generous – one portion is 1/6th of a large omlette.
