Pimiento de Padrón

Padrón peppers originate from Galicia in the north-east of Spain. They are on the whole mild sweet little green peppers with a twist – some of them are spicy like a chilli pepper. Quickly fried in olive oil and garnished with fried garlic and sea salt the peppers are eaten whole leaving behind just the stalk.
It’s estimated that between 10% and 25% of the peppers will have a kick but there is no way of knowing which peppers will be mild and which will be hot until you eat them.
A great source of vitamin C and a wonderful snack for those who enjoy their food with an element of surprise.
